The Handevat Project is a music development programme for young people between the ages of 8 and 16 from all the communities in the Overberg, and was initiated and sponsored in 2013 by Hans and Stefné van Dyk.
The music project’s aims are to support the holistic development of young people and to give them a vision, hope and new possibilities for their recreation and future, and to create opportunities for people from different communities to be and work together. Under the dedicated instruction of the passionate teachers, young musicians grow and hone their music making and life skills.
For the Classics for All Festival, the project’s orchestral players (strings and wind musicians) will be presenting a programme of popular classical favorites, to be enjoyed by the musicians and audience alike.
