Trio Pastel

Friday 3 December 19:00
The Greyton Lodge

Trio Pastel is a Cape Town-based trio formed in 2020, combining the talents of Liesl Stoltz (flute), Jana van der Walt (harp) and Petrus Coetzee (viola). This combination of instruments was a favourite of Impressionist composers during the late 1800s and therefore most of the existing repertoire for the combination centres around music in this style. However, many transcriptions have been made for this setting over the years. The programme will include popular works by Diabelli, Lefebvre, Devienne and Jongen, as well as transcriptions of the well-known Bergamasque Suite by Debussy and “Dance of the blessed spirits” by Gluck.
